Calculus I with Technology Prerequisite:MAT 155/155P or Placement at this level A first course in calculus with a focus on differential calculus. Topics include the study of limits, continuity, rates of change, the definition of the derivative, indeterminate forms, and techniques of differentiation of linear, polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, rational, and trigonometric functions. The course will include applications of the derivative to solve applied problems. Characteristics of functions such as intervals of increase or decrease, concavity, extrema, and end behavior will be studied as a means to describe, reason, interpret, and analyze relationships. The course concludes with an introduction of antiderivatives. Use of an approved graphing calculator is required throughout the course. 4.000 Credit hours 4.000 Lecture hours Levels: Undergraduate Schedule Types: Lecture, Online Mathematical Sciences Department Course Attributes: GER IIIA-Mathematics, LAC T1M-Mathematics Restrictions: May not be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Non Credit Prerequisites: Prerequisite MAT 243 General Requirements: ( Course or Test: MAT 130 May not be taken concurrently. ) or ( Course or Test: MAT 155 May not be taken concurrently. ) or ( Course or Test: MAT 155P May not be taken concurrently. ) or ( MP43 1 May not be taken concurrently. ) or ( S02 600 May not be taken concurrently. ) or ( May not be taken concurrently. ) or ( MPW 1 May not be taken concurrently. ) |
