History of Mathematics Prerequisite: MAT 380 Pre or Corequisite: MAT 320 This course studies the development of mathematics through various periods, civilizations and cultures around the world. Students will follow the historical arguments and will use tools available to specfic time periods. Among the areas of mathematics discussed in this course are number theory, geometry and trigonometry, calculus, statistics and probability, discrete mathematics, anlysis and algebra.
