Anthropology of Violence Prerequisite: LAC student with T1A, T1LT, T1H or T1SS course or ELAC student Through ethnographies, case studies, autobiographies and films we will examine the context of violence. We will look at the development of ideologies, perpetrators and victims, the meaning of violent acts, and how gender, race, ethnicity and nationality often determine who is terrorized, when, where and how. We will look at the multiple impacts of violence and fear on communities and the environment.
