Genetics And Society Prerequisite: LAC student with T1NS course or ELAC student The course will cover the history of genetics, from Mendel to recombinant DNA, with emphasis on the practical applications, as they relate to human, medical, and agricultural uses. Topics will include an examination of the way in which traits are inherited, the inheritance of specific disorders, the structure and function of DNA, as well as the way in which genetics play a role in cancer, aging, behavior, and other important areas.
