Prerequisites: Admission To CARE or Permission of Instructor
Permission of Advisor Required

Examines the major types of play behavior of young children - exploration, motor play, construction play, pretend play, and games - and the impact of each on development. Focuses on designing classroom environments to support play, including spatial arrangement, scheduling, selecting materials and adult scaffolding. Cultural diversity in play and the play behavior of children with disabilities are explored. Classroom experiences during regular class time will be completed, under the direct supervision of the instructor.
