Prerequisite: Admission to graduate division

This course emphasizes understanding and identifying appropriate intervention strategies to support content area growth in reading, writing and mathematics for struggling learners in P-12 classroom settings. It will examine various disability categories, assessments, strategies and theories to improve outcomes for students experiencing persistent difficulties including students with individualized education plans. It will explore current research related to specific learning disabilities including dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia.
