American Popular Music
Prerequisites: MUS 120 or MUS 130 and either MUS 235, MUS 236 or MUS 335. The course is a historical survey of the American popular music industry, from the early 19th century to the present. Emphasis is given to the unique relationship between popular music genres and contemporary socio-political, economic and technological developments.
