Film Music in History & Culture
Prerequisites: NONE

This course explores the history of film music with an emphasis on developments in musical style, narrative technique, studio structure, technology, and marketing/ consumption. Although we focus on musical sound and meaning, an overarching goal of the course is to identify ways that film music reflects and influences broader historical moments, economic situations, and cultural concerns.
