Race And Ethnic Relations
Prerequisite: SOC 100

This course will examine from a socio-historical perspective the nature of race and ethnic relations in the United States. The course will begin with an examination of theories regarding the dynamics of race and ethnic relations from various perspectives. It will then explore the complex and difficult question of how race and ethnicity shape social life in America, and conclude with a critical discussion of proposals for the resolution of the race problem in this country.
