Surveys major theories of theatre and drama from Aristotle to the present, as well as the range of contemporary critical discourses on performance (e.g., Cultural Studies, Feminism, Performance Theory, Psychoanalysis, and Semiotics). Students will attend performances and write reviews and critical essays.
