ART 212 - Art History II:1400 To Present
Introduction To Art History: 1400 To The Present
Prerequisite: None

This course surveys the development of art form 1600 to today, from a multicultural perspective. We will explore the subject matter and visual characteristics (style) of arts works and the social/historical context in which the works were produced in order to understand their meanings. Emphasis will be place on the arts of painting, sculpture, and architecture, but other art forms will be examined as well. At various times throughout the semester, we will study specific works in greater detail to give you an opportunity to develop skills in visual analysis and in the interpretation of meaning.
