BIO 230 - Genetics with Laboratory
General Genetics
Prerequisites:BIO 120, BIO 130 with a grade of C- or better, Pre or Co-requisites: CHE 210/212 or CHE 211/213. Course may not be taken concurrently with BIO 220.
NOTE: There is a $50.00 lab fee for this course.

This course is an introduction to the basics of genetics including molecular, cellular, transmission, and population genetics. It will provided an overview of the structure and function of genes and chromosomes and explore the evolutionary consequences of their behavior in populations. Laboratory experiments will include essential theories and techniques in the field. Course must be completed with a grade of C- or better. This course may not be taken concurrently with BIO 220 without the express written consent of the Biology Department Chair or designee.
