Chemical Instrumentation W/Lab Prerequisite: CHE 216 - 217 and stage 2 university writing requirement completed. Pre or Corequisite: CHE 316 NOTE: There is a $50 lab fee for this course. One semester course that will examine theory and applicaton of optical and electrical instruments to solve chemical and biochemical problems. The areas covered will include techniques and data analysis in: spectroscopy, separations, electrochemistry, mass spectrometry, and surface analysis. Emhasis will be placed on theoretical and practical considerations of instrumental components, operation, data interpretation, and statistical analysis. The advantages as well as the practical limitations of each technique will be discussed and applied to the solution of problems in chemical and biochemical analysis.
