Real Analysis I Prerequisites: MAT 230, 244, 315 and(MAT 320 or 380) A rigorous study of the real number system including the well-ordering property, the completeness axiom, the Archimedian property, the topology of the real numbers (open, closed, compact sets), Heine-Borel and Bolzano- Weierstrass theorems, number sequences, limits, convergence tests, including the nonotone convergence theorem, Caunchy sequences, subsequences, lipsup and liminf for sequences, limits and continuity of real functions, and properties of continuous functions.
