MUS 240 - Intro to Diction for Singers
Introduction to Diction for Singers

Co-requisite: MSU 356 or MUS 456

This course will focus on a study of phonetics as it applies to the primary singin languages of Italian, French, German and English. Students will become familiar with the International Phonetic Alphabet as an essential diction tool for singers at all levels of development. Skills will be assessed through written exercises and the graded performance of assigned repertoire. This course draws upon work done in the voice studio and as such requires concurrent registration in MUS 356 or 456.
