Music & The Art of Environment
Prerequisite: MUS 100, MUS 120, or MUS 130

This writing-intensive seminar examines the cultural values expressed through musical representations of both natural and urban environments; explores the politial and ecological impact of musical activity on various environments; and reflects critically on the ways sound defines the spaces in which we live. Music under examination will come from throughout history and include both popular and western classical styles.
